Trio Busted With 387 Grams Of Pot, Semiautomatic Guns, Rifle During Stop In Maryland: Sheriff

Three 20-somethings in Maryland are facing drug and weapon charges after being busted during a routine traffic stop for a blown stop sign in Charles County, officials announced on Tuesday, Nov. 22.

Jalonni La Monte Agee, 20, of Indian Head, Dontre Marquise Bryant, 23, of Suitland, and Shaniya Monet Hutchins, 21, of Lanham were apprehended by sheriff’s deputies after failing to stop at a stop sign near the area of Bannister Circle and Hamilton Place, according to investigators.

During the stop, a sheriff’s deputy reported the smell of marijuana emanating from the inside of the vehicle, prompting further investigation, leading to the recovery of:

  • 387 grams of marijuana (nearly a pound);
  • Two semiautomatic guns;
  • One rifle.

Each of the three was arrested without incident and charged with:

  • Possession of drugs with intent to distribute;
  • Illegal transportation of firearms;
  • Other related charges.

Following their initial court appearance, all three were released from the Charles County Detention Center under the condition they do not possess firearms.

No return court date has been announced by investigators.
